About Comet Lithium
Comet Lithium is a exploration-focused entity based in the James Bay District of the province of Quebec. Dedicated to advancing its portfolio of assets, which includes the Pollux Property and the Liberty Property, Comet Lithium stands out in the cesium-lithium exploration sector.
The Pollux Project is Comet Lithium’s flagship discovery in the James Bay region of Québec and represents a rapidly advancing lithium-cesium-tantalum (LCT) pegmatite system. Previously known as Elmer East, the project was renamed to reflect a significantly enhanced geological understanding and the increasing importance of cesium-rich mineralization within the system.
Recent exploration has confirmed the presence of highly evolved pegmatites-an essential indicator of fertile LCT systems capable of hosting lithium, cesium, and tantalum. Notably, the identification of pollucite, the primary ore mineral of cesium, highlights the project’s potential as a rare source of this strategically important critical mineral.
Cesium is one of the least abundant and most supply-constrained critical elements globally, and its recognition at Pollux materially enhances the project’s strategic and economic significance. The name “Pollux” was chosen as a direct reference to pollucite, aligning with Comet Lithium’s corporate identity while emphasizing the project’s emerging multi-commodity potential.
